JOSEPH
Sandy's personal guide and circle Gatekeeper is known to us as Joseph. This name was not his own within life but was bestowed upon him by Sandy herself during her early development, and has been accepted by him wholeheartedly.Joseph communicates by speaking through the vessel when she is in trance state, using her own voice as this is easiest for them both. He also enjoys signing his name. His signature of course being reproduced many times, sometimes with long spaces in time between, with the signature remaining identical and totally unlike the Medium's own hand.
Joseph describes himself as a Native American of the Sioux nation. He tells us that he lived in Idaho with his brothers and a group of other children whose parents had been slaughtered by "the soldiers". He passed at the age of 12 after cracking his head on a rock. He told us that as a child he fed on buffalo and grubs. He had very much wanted to become a medicine man and has brought this interest forward to share with Sandy, who is a qualified nurse and nutritional therapist, and also has two sons with learning difficulties.
Joseph usually presents to us with a childlike personality, although he is knowledgeable beyond his presented years. His presence is initially recognised by recognisable by his wide grin and child-like humour. Joseph tells us that he currently enjoys riding his black (or brown) and white horse bareback through wide open spaces and beautiful scenery.
ROLE: Within the circle Joseph looks after Sandy and considers himself the team leader. Outside of the lodge he remains with her, as he continues his work as a healer.
JOHN BUTLER
John presents a tall man of large stature and quite stern personality. He tells us that he lived in Minehead and was a butcher, or surgeon, and that he passed in 1797 or thereabouts. He also tells us that he was married to Mary and that they had three children. Annabel, Christian and Laura. John was of Catholic faith. John manipulates the whole of the vessels body and can walk 'within' her.
His presence is first recognised by his size as he stretches the vessels arms, hands and legs, resembling the presentation of someone fitting into a wet-suit. When he becomes settled 'his' eyes often open and he has been proven to be able to see clearly. In this regard he read something on the wall of the lodge, that the vessel required glasses to read. he himself appeared surprised by the fact that he could read also, as he wore glasses in life. When he walks 'within' the vessel he walks with uncertain stance initially, until he becomes familiar with the sensations. Sitters are asked to sit very still during this period of adjustment. John is able to communicate using the vessels own voice, but generally prefers to remain silent.
John often displays impatience with Arethena, who is the spirit nurse, but he displays great respect for Craig White, who presents as a consultant surgeon.
ROLE: John is apparently with us to develop his abilities as a healer. His wishes to physically demonstrate the healing abilities of those within the spirit world to those upon the earth plane, and may later develop an ability to demonstrate psychic surgery within seance conditions. Arethena tells us that John Butler wears a white suit when he presents himself to us.
ARETHENA
Arethena has been described by Joseph as being very pretty. He says that she has long black hair and oval slanted eyes. She wears a toga or wrapped type of garment to her knees, with a bare midriff. She wears flat sandals that have straps winding up her legs. She describes herself as a lady and presents clearly with this personality. Her presence is recognised by a slight change in the vessel's facial features as Arethena appears most delicate and neat. She also displays her hands well.
Arethena tells us that she is Greek and lived in Larneca, Cyprus, at some period BC. She passed at the age of 26 or 27. Her writing is of an ornamental style.Arethena tells us that she is a nurse and works with the surgeon John Butler. She tells us that she works beside him and can influence his arms and hands by thought. Most recently Arethena has become able to walk around the Lodge 'with John' and she admires the decoration and likes to suggest improvements.Arethena, as a nurse, is a typical lady and often late. This causes John to react with impatience towards her. She in turn expects him to wait for her. It can be amusing to watch as these two interact!
ROLE: To support John's work, and to bring a feminine 'tactfulness' to the team
CRAIG WHITE
Arethena and Joseph say that Craig is a Consultant Surgeon. He oversees the work carried out by John Butler and others (other entities also come through to observe and to learn). Craig White has limited communication skills as yet, but has more recently started to speak softly. His role is limited at present due to the fact that the teams skills regarding psychic surgery are not yet sufficiently developed to become demonstrated.
They tell us that they are gathering experience in many ways here, and that the project is still on track. Chris has asked that the team develops this phenomena, to be presented in a manner that proves healing. i.e. physical operations witnessed within the light.
Arethena has told us that Craig is a very nice man. He used to live in York and passed in 1920 when he was 55. He is said to have had one son named John, who was born perhaps in 1900. Arethena says, politely, that Craig is of pleasantly plump build. She describes his hair as short, brown and curly. She also tells us that he wears a smart striped suit.
MARCUS
Marcus has been described by Arethena as presenting as a fresh-faced young man with dark hair, aged in his early 20's. He lived in Iran, and died there in a car accident. He is not a Team member, but an occasional visitor. His purpose is to learn. Arethena describes him as a medical student, as best we'd understand this.
BERNARD POTTER (Pronounced Ber Nard)
Bernard tells us that he was born of a German mother and British father. He had a difficult childhood being born and brought up along with his two sisters, in Germany. He gave his birthdate as October 21st 18**) http://www.firstworldwar.com/battles/all.htm
As an adult he worked hard and for long hours. He did not marry. He passed shortly after WW1 at age 50.
Arethena and Joseph describe him as appearing as a short stocky man with a hunched back.
Joseph says he presents as wearing a dark striped suit and waistcoat. Bernard tells us he is here to observe and to learn. He is not here to take part in healing, although learns through the experience. He is here primarily to gain knowledge and refers to himself as being 'like an encyclopedia'. He says he has found the Spirit Team very helpful. Arethena tells us that Bernard is very useful to the Spirit Team.
When Bernard first came forward he spoke of being responsible for much cruelty when he was upon the earth plane. He has told us that he was responsible for attrocities against humanity. He didn't regard human life as being of any importance and was unaware of the suffering he caused. He is not proud now of all that he was responsible for. He has since had to face up to all that he was and is and this wasn't easy.
More recently Bernard has mentioned that his life has improved. He says that when he first came here to meet us he had no friends and kept himself to himself. He has gained confidence and has progressed to another level (within the spirit world) as a result of his learning. He has also met a woman named Mary, who he says he met here in the lodge : )
ROLE: To assist with the offering of knowledge useful to the team and to mankind.
MIKE
Mike is Sandy's brother. He passed 25 years ago following a motorcycle accident. He tells us that he now rides a blue Triumph 750cc. Mike's presence is usually recognised by an obvious change in the vessell's breathing as he attempts to take her into a deeper state of trance. His wish is to speak using his own voice as validation for his whole family.
Mike may also be recognised by his 'rounded and manly' laughter as he sits with shoulders hunched.Within earthly life Mike suffered from Asthma and has demonstrated a familiar stance, as if suffering in this way. The purpose again is for validation for his family to recognise.
ROLE: Mike was been working firstly to present his own face, using transfiguration techniques, and has since moved on the assist other spirit visitors to do the same.
* It is hoped that it may become possible for Mike's family to sit in seance. They are currently adjusting to this idea.
ANNE BUTT
Anne is the medium's maternal grandmother. During her first short visit she was proven unable to speak nor write, so she made use of Sandy's awareness of sign language, which in fact Sandy hadn't used for over ten years, in an attempt to communicate with Chris (who doesn't understand sign language). Anne had been supportive of Mike's communication previously but had never come forward in her own right. Most recently Anne has communicated through a blend of sign language and spoken words.
ROLE: To support Mike and Sandy and to help bring spiritual understanding to the family.
BECCA & KRISTIAN
Two children have been described by Joseph and Bernard. Both present as dressed in Victorian clothes. The girl has pretty ringlets in her hair. There is a suggestion that her name is Becca and she presents as being about 12 years old. The boy is slightly smaller and gives his name as Kristian. He presents as being about 10 years old. They are bother and sister and share the surname of Cross. They suggest that they crossed over in 1850 approx. Becca feels she passed in September, whereas Kristian feels he passed in January. *We have been told that the children prefer their names to be spelled in the modern style.
Jon Butler has since told us that Kristian is his son. Becca's appearance has been discribed several times by visiting sitters who have seen her psychically.
ROLE: To learn to create evidential physical phenomena by moving things within the lodge. They have so far moved a piece of wood, an upturned cup, and some shoes (several times).
GRAHAM
Has been seen psychically as a man wearing a tall black hat, an American, appearing to be aged about 58-60. He has been described to us several times by visiting sitters who have seen him psychically. He has given his name as Graham and it is said that he was an undertaker living in Chicago. He has also told us that he lived in Tucson, Arizona.
Joseph has described him as a very tall slim man with large hands. He wears a black suit and upon the earth plane had a horse and cart associated with his business. Since joining the Team he has cast aside his tall hat and Joseph has stopped him from bringing his horse and cart into the lodge! He still has his horse however, and has referred to him as 'Trigger' and 'Dobbin'.
Graham has a strong personality and finds it difficult to defer to others. He lacks patience and was initially resistent to working as a team member within the spirit team. He would carry out actions without properly negotiating with the others and disputes would occur within the team as a result. He has since accepted his role and purpose and is far less grumptious! His role now is as a spokesperson and he enjoys working with ectoplasm.
As time passed Graham has offered his wife's name of Mary. He described her as being short and rounded, and as being a good woman. He said that they had no children.
ROLE: His main work seems to be to work towards the enablement of direct voice. He manipulates ectoplasm. The 'medical' members of the team assist by working internally with the vessel. Sometimes sitters can see apparently internal movements. Sandy herself can feel these too.

ELF
A boy who lived in Africa. He likes to be called 'Elf' because he is light and bounces around! We know very little about him, but he presents as a friendly and fun-filled character!
ROLE: Elf enjoys feeling movement, using gravity etc. He is learning to levitate the vessel. Such a level of physical control of the vessel and of energy manipulation would assist the medical members with their work.
MARTIN
Like Elf, a recent communicator. In fact he was introduced to us by Elf. Martin tells us that he has an interest in levitation techniques and has worked in this way in the past with a medium named Jonathan, who wasn't famous. He is keen to use his skills again.

SAMUEL
Spirit child visted on february 10th 2011. Said he lived in America, Boston. Around the time of the Boston tea party. Died at around age 12, after falling from a tree. Suffered leg, body and head injuries.
